A little history~
In the mid-80's, LaMar Boschman along with a board of directors, started the Worship Institute
which was an event held each July in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. From the beginning,
this event brought together pastors, worship leaders, musicians and others interested in seeking the Lord in the
area of worship ~ it has been truly unique. It has also been a strategic platform for fulfilling the
vision the Lord gave to LaMar regarding facilitating and equipping worshippers worldwide.
Our family began attending in the summer of '89, just after our first year at Christ for the
Nations-Dallas Bible school. The day sessions were filled with hands-on, practical workshops with worship leaders
from all around the globe, and the evenings were dedicated to worshiping the Lord and teaching. What impressed us was
that God was always first and it was never an event to 'promote' a name or a ministry. This was so nice to see this
attitude continue year after year, and was again so prevalent in this year's 18th International Worship Institute.
When our family was in Argentina ('93-'96), LaMar Boschman was visiting for conferences each
year in Córdoba, where we were living at the time. Grady had the opportunity of ministering with LaMar on several occasions
in Argentina, and the friendship really began there. He and Grady had many long discussions of the vision God was giving
LaMar for facilitating worship leaders world-wide and the desire they both had to see worship leaders, musicians, and those
involved in worship brought to a maturity that was known by few.
Contact was maintained over the years and we have seen the vision developing in the lives of
those with whom we work. Grady continues to be a part of the IWI, teaching in the workshops each summer which is a blessing
and a privilege. LaMar continues to be involved with the worship ministry of Amistad Cristiana (he will be coming his
third time) this September 24-26, for our annual Worship Conference here in Mexico City.
